The Paradox of Authority: Israeli Law Since February 16, 1949
A study of how Israeli law has operated since the Official Gazette of 16 February 1949. The paper argues that post-1949 legislation carries no enacting clause, adapts H. L. A. Hart’s rule of recognition into a weak and a strong test of public recognition, and traces what follows for the authority and legitimacy of state action.
